Wow, I can't believe it's been 10 years since I first joined the Legions.
Was August 2011.
I've had so many amazing experiences and made some life long friends.
I had heard of the 501st a few years before, but thought they were only for
people with Stormtrooper Armour. I had several close to movie accurate
costumes at the time, but they were mostly good guys.
Once I realised it could be any bad guy, I was sorted.
I already had an Aurra Sing costume, and after a few tweaks, it was approved.
Whilst waiting for approval, I also submitted photos I already had of my Bespin Leia
to the Rebel Legion, and it was approved straight away. So technically I was a Rebel for
about a week before I was 501st.
My first intro to the Garrison, was an Armour Party at Hoppy's place.
I turned up with a fibre glass TK Armour set looking for advice, and to get
to know everyone. I think some of the guys thought I wouldn't be back. Haha.
My first Troop was at the Logan Library.
I've attended 172 Legion related Troops and Events.
Including:
13 Hospital Troops
10 MS Moonlight Walks
7 Dreamworlds
9 Supanovas
3 Carnival of Flowers
And 50 social Events including Armour Parties, Garrison Meetings, Awards Nights,
Vodcast Filmings, and meet ups with other Garrisons in other countries.
During my time, I was the Co Host with Buzzard on the Redback Garrison Propaganda Bureau Vodcasts. I was the first ever 'GEM' for the first ever Gold Coast Supanova. I attended Celebration 7 in 2015. For a little while I was the main POC for Hospital Troops. I was the first to do a Tonnika Sister, and wrote the CRL for it. And most recently I won best dressed at the MS Moonlight Walk.
I have 10 501st costumes: ROTS Vader, Aurra Sing, Tie Reserve, IC, ID and Warrant, Juno Rogue and Dress, Tonnika, and Arica. I had a Jawa for a little while too.
And I have 12 Rebel costumes: Leia Classic, Bespin, Endor and Slave, Oola, X Wing, Willrow, Queen Amidala, Padme Snowbunny, Juno, Tonnika and Arica.
Whilst Beanie I think has the most 501st costumes, I think I may have the most Rebel ones.
I haven't trooped as much in the past few years, as I did in the early years. That seems to hapoen to a lot of us. It's all fun and exciting, and then other life stuff gets in the way. But I do value the experiences I've had and the friends I've made, both here and overseas.
I've put together a few photo collages of some of the fun times I've had.
