Gamesworld Carindale - Donut - 25-08-2014

Date: 23-08-2014

Venue: Games World Carindale

Time: 10am

Mission:

The Rebel Alliance agreed to a temporary cease fire with Imperial Forces, on August 23rd. The cease fire was instigated to allow a meeting of both sides
on the distant planet of Carindale, to source supplies.
The meeting took place at Games World
- a wretched hive of games and collectables.

The day began well, with the uneasy truce between forces being upheld.

Although both sides were wary...

Thankfully, both Rebels and Imperials were soon overwhelmed by the appearance of younglings, native to the planet Carindale.

The distraction prevented all out war...

More representatives of both sides soon arrived -

But in time, the truce began to waver... mostly due to the Imperials realising how sexy the Jedi were and being jealous of their good looks.

Alas.... war soon broke out on planet Carindale.

Chewbacca was deeply upset by the death of Donut, because they had been buds....

ROLL CREDITS

All in all a really fun troop. We briefly also assisted the Daffodil day fundraisers.
A lot of happy customers, and it was non-stop ALL day. I don't think any of us had time to rest.

Store owners Mark and Fiona were thrilled and are happy to have us back any time.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event. You all did brilliantly!!

Yes, there was a mishap in the carpark, which caused us to get stuck in gridlock. This was out of our control. We were, at most, 15 minutes late. We arrived fully dressed in our costumes as we'd changed into them at home, which meant we could start trooping as soon as we got there.

There was no mention of needing to be at the troop on time, just to troop for as much as we could. We came, we trooped, we didn't take a break, we stayed until the end, we had a great time, we brought joy to other's day, and the Gamesworld staff were very appreciative of our time and effort. These are the things that should be focussed on.

Awesome report Donut!

And what a fantastic effort from everyone - so grateful to our members that travel to small events - as well as the big gigs (cons & Dreamworld).

Thanks to Martin & Sarah for going all out with costumes, prosthetics & masks to bring Chewie & our Twi'lek Jedi to life for the crowd. Nice interaction between the RL & 501st! Again, the crowd loved it.

And special thanks to V3n0m for non stop photography and keeping the public engaged and informed. The shop owners were very appreciative & so were the shoppers.

Great to see Chewie, an X-Wing pilot & a cross section of our impressively diverse Jedi on the front lines!!! Applause

i think you both got the wrong intentions, it was a reference to gamesworld that just 1 month ago another club was also at the same shop and members of that club arrived (Donut can back me up there) late because they went to the wrong shopping center, so thats what i thought had happened here, nothing else was intended by it at all.

Great report Donut and great effort team.

Thanks for clarifying Sarah as to why some of you were an hour late. We thought it may have been another SNAFU like the last one where D2L ended up at the wrong Gamesworld. As command staff Beanie and I like to make sure things are running smoothly and any glitches are ironed out, particularly as this is a crossover troop from the 501st. Seeing as it was car park related not event or communication related that is really good to know.

However you did mention there is no mention of it being said that you need to turn up on time to a troop. Correct there isn't, however we do like to be on time to all troops. Understandably if there is an issue like you had with the car park or traffic or a costume related mishap then turning up late is understandable. Maybe text or PM the POC to let them know so people don't get worried.
