Hoppy's X-Wing - Hopfot - 12-04-2015

So. Got my helmet design in its final stage, using my new template. Thinking of something to look maybe a lot like this. Tongue

Hopefully have this done by July.

Just one thing I'm unsure of is the black Alliance Starbird on the right hand side. So thinking of either a white Jedi Symbol on both sides OR a white Starbird on the right. But unfortunately I don't have a white Starbird decal.

Second design. Liking more than the first. I have given it a racing helmet look and feel. Like a motorcycle helmet.

For any who can't read aurabesh. It says on both sides...
" DFB "
" DB42 "
Being "Death From Above"
and "Drop Bear 42" the number I'm thinking of going for.

Slight revision on 2nd design. Added my name in with the rank of my character. Tongue

Very cool design

A fitting of a few bits and pieces and to figure what's left to do. I have found that I am just 1 item away from another costume....

"Now where did I put that 'Data Core'?"

What I have left to go.
Finish the vest (need clips, back strapping and silicon tubing for ribs)
Finish webbing, fit and attach to vest.
Finish Belt, Attach buckle, and loops for belt mini flares.
I think I need to make the view panel for the Compadd bigger.
I need to make some modification to the collar, it's a touch too small for my fat neck.
And the big thing. CONSTRUCT AND PAINT THE HELMET!!!

Pretty sure that's all I have left to go. It's been a slow build, since I bought the flight suit, gloves and boots about 3-4 years ago.

Hopefully by June/July Lieutenant Commander Jedi Master Hopfot, Drop Bear 42 (the number I'm hoping for), will be ready to take to the skies. Then I can get to working on the new Jedi,

We'll know come June/July. Tongue

RE: Hoppy's X-Wing - Dimes - 17-04-2015

Liking the helmet design a lot!

Has the costume been mostly sourced internationally? Just curious if some of the parts for a pilot are easier to find locally in Aus than say some other customes… lol. But I imagine it's probably equally true for most star wars costumes that, outside of fabrics and such, you need to look overseas for what you need. Bloody ocean, lol
